Everyone knows that the atmosphere in a home, first of all, depends on the comfort of being in it. What is the basis of comfort? That’s right – the optimal temperature in the house. And when the cold season comes, it’s time to actively warm up. An excellent modern way to ensure constant warmth in a room is to install a warm floor.

Requirements for pipes for underfloor heating

In the construction of a warm water floor, the main heat sources are pipes with liquid, which are placed inside the underfloor heating system. In order for the surface to be heated evenly and uninterruptedly (after all, frequent repairs of floors will cost a pretty penny), certain requirements are imposed on pipes:

Only high-quality pipes made of suitable materials can guarantee a combination of all the above qualities.

Underfloor heating pipe material

For a warm water floor, you can use metal-plastic pipes, pipes made of cross-linked polyethylene, polybutene, polypropylene, stainless steel, etc. Of course, the higher the density, the more reliable and better your floor heating system will be.

Also, pipes with a dense oxygen layer are suitable for the above design. They are characterized by excellent thermal conductivity, but they are extremely inconvenient to install in floors. Installing them requires strong hands and gigantic patience.

Corrugated stainless pipes and products made of cross-linked polyethylene also show themselves well in practice. Both options are characterized by good flexibility, a wide range of sizes and excellent thermal conductivity.

Reinforced-plastic pipes are characterized by the greatest resistance to mechanical damage.

The polyethylene material will exclude the formation of cracks in the construction of the thermal water floor.

All pipes made of the above materials have a long service life, good corrosion resistance and safety of use.

The main parameters for installing pipes for underfloor heating

Depending on what type of floor you have (concrete or wood), you need to choose pipes as well. There are several types of floor heating pipes installation. Let’s take a look at the main features of this process.

  1. Installation of a warm floor should be carried out only after the floor has been leveled.
  2. For the most efficient heating of pipes in a building for a warm system, the best location is to be placed in the upper third area of the concrete screed.
  3. It is important to consider the distance from one pipe to another in order to achieve uniform heating of the concrete surface.
  4. It is not recommended (and even prohibited) to use steel pipes for a warm water floor.
  5. Copper pipes have poor durability and corrosion resistance.

As you can see, choosing the right pipes for the underfloor heating system is not so easy, and making their high-quality installation is even more difficult. Therefore, we recommend that you consult with specialists and seek professional help . And then you will ensure a comfortable stay in your home for households and guests.

Do you want to add warmth and comfort to your home? The right choice is underfloor heating. Improve the atmosphere in your home!
